Wedding Flower Decoration
Wedding flower decoration is probably the single most important item on the decorations list. Without it, no wedding would be the same, losing most of its romantic air, and the picture of peaceful joy will be lost. Doing it right can turn your wedding day into something wonderful, yet doing it wrong can have disastrous consequences.
Keep in mind that flowers need not only be used as decorations. It is also used to greet your guests, and to wish the newlyweds happiness by throwing rose petals over them.
Depending on the ceremony, and the size of the church and reception hall, you will have any possibility of various combinations and layouts. You will find that the following basic types of wedding flower decoration will be found at (just about) any wedding reception, including yours:
Bouquets: The bride will be carrying one, and there will be more on the tables, and possibly some more on stands as decorations in the church and the reception hall. The bouquet for the bride needs some careful consideration. It should complement her skin tone, body proportions, the wedding dress, and her individuality, so she can look her best. The rest of the wedding flower decoration will have to adapt to complement her bouquet, so it will require some thought.
Boutonnieres: Worn by the groom, the best man, and the couple’s fathers, these are made of small flower buds, pinned to the left lapel of the men’s’ jackets.
Corsages: Using a small bloom or several blooms tied together, these come in wrist, pin-on, and hand held styling.
Wreaths: Made in a round shape, these can be simple or magnificent, depending on the application. It can be used for headpieces, door decorations, or even as center pieces.
There are countless possibilities when having to choose flowers, and given their natural beauty, the choice can prove to be a difficult one. As a symbol of love and romance, it inevitably becomes part of any wedding day. Your choice of flowers and wedding flower decoration designs will be saying something about you as a couple, so give some thought about how you would like to present yourself.
