Planning A Wedding? Here Are Some Wedding Decorating Ideas

Are you getting married soon, and you’re starting to plan your wedding?  Congratulations on your engagement!  Now comes the hard part, which is actually planning your wedding. 

Until you actually get engaged and have a date set, and settle down into the nitty gritty of wedding planning, it’s impossible to understand just how much work planning a wedding is.  Sometimes it seems as if there are millions of details to take care of.  And one of the main things on your mind is wedding decorating ideas.  It’s right up there with which caterer to use and what bridal gown to wear.  But sometimes brides just feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start when it comes to idea for decorating.  If you’re stumped, here are some tips.

One great source of wedding decorating ideas is bridal magazines.  These magazines never seem to go out of style.  Next time you’re at your favorite bookstore or news stand, check out the wedding magazines.  There are usually several, and most of the time they’re hundreds of pages thick.  A lot of it is advertising, of course, but there are some really great articles in each issue, including on decorating for your wedding.  Another great place to find inspiration is other weddings you attend.  If you’ve been to one recently that you thought was really nicely done, don’t hesitate to call your friend and ask her for her wedding decorating tips.  She won’t be offended that you’re “stealing” her ideas; she’ll be flattered.

But if you just can’t seem to come up with any wedding decorating ideas on your own, or from a friend’s wedding, and nothing in the magazines really jumps out at you, relax.  That’s what wedding planners are for.  It’s what they do for a living, and they’re very good at it.  They’ll have a million ideas, and one of them is bound to be just the one you’re looking for.  A lot of women make it a point of pride to plan their own wedding in every last detail, but there’s no point in being stubborn if you’re completely stumped.  Call around and find a good wedding planner, and take a load off your mind.  You’ve got enough to worry about.
